Some mornings like this morning I am just overwhelmed by all that God is for me in Christ. I am entirely captivated by Him and don't wish to move a single muscle out of of His precious presence. This morning is just such a morning and this song, a song I learned in my days at Five Points keeps coming to mind. I wish more of my hours and my days could be spent in the way this morning has. Oh for more grace to keep on in this fight of faith!
"Before the Throne of God Above"
by Charitie Bancroft
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end to all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Behold Him there the risen Lamb
My perfect spotless righteousness
The great unchangeable I AM
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God.

I love that song! There's another one that it reminds me of (not as hymny) that we sang in Crusade...it's from one of the Psalms...
You prepare a banquet before me
In the presence of my enemies.
You annoint my head with oil
And my cup, it overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me.
All the days of my life, all the days of my life.
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord.
Forever, forever, forever. Amen.
He he! I was watching Ugly Betty today at lunch and Henry (the guy who wants to date Betty, but she already has a boyfriend...never mind, stupid background not important) asks Betty to go see Wicked with him. Betty had been humming "Popular" in the elvator. :D I thought of you.
Hehe, that makes me giggle. I was just singing "Defying Gravity" the other day at work, while I was on an elevator too. That's a bit ironic on so many different levels. Anyway, Wicked is such a fun musical!
